I found this article on called "Mien women-only language is at the verge of extinction". The article does pertain to the Yao because this is another name that they go by. To summarize it talks about the oldest language in the world being under the threat of extinction. There are only a few older women that know this language and China is investing over one million dollars to preserve it. To do this, they will set up a special protection zone and create a museum in the Hunan Province that will hold written examples of the language. This is an unexpected step to preserve the one of a kind women language since the women still face much gender discrimination in the Republic of China.
